The Alexandria Aces are part of the Cal Ripken Sr. Collegiate Baseball League, one of the nation's premier summer collegiate wooden-bat leagues, providing elite college players with the opportunity to compete in an environment that closely mirrors professional baseball.
Unlike the aluminum bats used during the college season, wooden bats require greater precision, discipline, and skill, making the league an important proving ground for players aspiring to play professionally. The league has established itself as a respected pathway to professional baseball, attracting top talent from across the country and drawing the attention of Major League scouts each summer.
The Alexandria Aces have proudly represented Alexandria, Virginia, in the Cal Ripken League since 2008 and have become one of the league's most successful player-development organizations. In 2025, a franchise-record seven former Aces players were selected in the MLB Draft: James Quinn-Irons (Tampa Bay Rays), Colton Book (Chicago Cubs), Cameron Keshock (Pittsburgh Pirates), Dylan Grego (San Diego Padres), Jacob Hartlaub (Tampa Bay Rays), Sam Robertson (New York Mets), and Ryan Osinski (New York Yankees). Since the team's founding four former Aces have gone on to play in Major League Baseball.
Through its commitment to player development, community engagement, and affordable family entertainment at Frank Mann Field, the Alexandria Aces continue to serve as a premier destination for collegiate summer baseball and a source of pride for the Alexandria community.

Frank Mann Field is one of the most historic baseball venues in Northern Virginia and has been a part of Alexandria's baseball landscape for nearly five decades. Located adjacent to Four Mile Run Park, the ballpark was constructed in 1978 as a professional baseball facility originally known as Municipal Stadium at Four Mile Run. It was built to bring professional baseball back to Alexandria and served as the home of the Alexandria Dukes, a Class A affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates in the Carolina League.
The stadium was named after former Alexandria mayor and civic leader Frank E. Mann, who was instrumental in bringing professional baseball back to the city. During the Dukes era (1978–1983), the ballpark hosted future professional players and attracted baseball fans from throughout the Washington metropolitan area. The Dukes won the Carolina League Championship in 1982 before relocating to Prince William County in 1984, where the franchise eventually evolved into the Potomac Nationals and later the Fredericksburg Nationals.
After professional baseball departed, Frank Mann Field remained an important community asset. The facility continued to host high school, youth, and amateur baseball while maintaining its original field dimensions and baseball character. The ballpark sits beside Four Mile Run and has long been recognized for its intimate setting, historic atmosphere, and connection to Alexandria's baseball heritage.
Today, Frank Mann Field serves as the home of the Alexandria Aces of the Cal Ripken Sr. Collegiate Baseball League. Since the Aces' arrival in 2008, the ballpark has welcomed some of the nation's top collegiate players each summer and continues its tradition as a launching pad for future professional baseball talent. The field also hosts youth baseball programs, camps, and community events, ensuring that Frank Mann Field remains a centerpiece of baseball in Alexandria nearly 50 years after it first opened

. Every summer, children throughout Alexandria have the chance to watch talented collegiate players compete at Frank Mann Field, interact with players and coaches, and experience firsthand the values of teamwork, perseverance, sportsmanship, and community involvement.
As a nonprofit organization, the Aces view each game as more than a competition on the field—it is an opportunity to bring people together. We strive to create an affordable, family-friendly environment where fans of all ages can enjoy America's pastime while connecting with neighbors, local leaders, and community organizations that make Alexandria such a special place to live.
One of the unique traditions of the Alexandria Aces is our Featured Organization Program. At home games, we spotlight a local nonprofit, civic group, school, youth organization, veteran service organization, or community partner. These organizations are invited to share their mission, engage with fans, and raise awareness about the important work they do throughout our community. By providing this platform, the Aces help connect thousands of fans each summer with organizations that are making a meaningful difference in the lives of Alexandria residents.
Through baseball, we are building connections that extend far beyond the ballpark and creating a stronger community for future generations.
